Offroad
As it turns out, speakers and electronics do not like mud. A recent offroading trip flooded the interior of my Jeep with mud up to the doors.
A sound system and music are crucial for any pleasurable off road experience. To ensure I will always have functional speakers, I designed a marine grade sound system.
Parts
I purchased a marine amplifier, 4 marine wake boat speakers, and a marine rated head unit. All of the electronic components are mounted up in the ceiling using an off the shelf basket with custom designed mounting brackets.
The head unit that was selected has multiple auxiliary ports on the back to display video feeds from a camera. To see more about this feature, check out the project page for the Jeep XJ camera system.
