Jeep Cherokees are notorious for having unsupported wobbly center consoles. This is because the plastic bracket that supports it breaks from heat cycles and general use. The problem is even worse if your vehicle is lifted and your passengers grab it to enter the vehicle. The bracket should have 3 bottom legs and two top legs. Mine was completely missing 2 legs and another was snapped off. There are several aftermarket solutions available for this problem already. I chose to purchase this sheet metal bracket on Amazon. Surprise, it didn’t fit perfectly out of the box. I had to put it in my vice and do some precision bending and tweaking. After a few tries, I got all of the holes to align and screwed in the new bracket. This part is super strong and will most likely outlast the vehicle. After installing the center console and giving it a good shake, there is no longer any wobble.
